Effective January 1, 2006 the California Department of Veteran Affairs (Cal Vet ) has increased its maximum loan limit to $521,250 with a zero downpayment requirement. Veterans must have 90 days of regular active duty and an Honorable Discharge. Wartime service is not required. You do not have to be a California Veteran to use this program in California.
